Captivating and emotional testimony in the first week of the trial against Robert Telles

The first week of Robert Telles’ trial featured gripping testimony.

On the first day of the trial, there was an emotional statement from Jeff German’s neighbors.

Prosecutor Pamela Wecklerly interviewed German's neighbors.

“When I turned right, I walked another two meters and saw him (Bailey crying). I'm sorry,” says German's neighbor Roy Bailey.

Wecklerly replied to Mr. Bailey, “It's OK. Do you need water?”

Bailey says, “I saw Jeff.”

She also says, “You saw Jeff. Was he on the floor?”

Roy Bailey says: “Yes.”

Holly Bailey, Roy Bailey's wife and German's neighbor, said: “I ran to my husband. He was on the phone with 911 and was in shock. I was in shock too and he was in very bad shape.”

On the second day of testimony, jurors heard testimony from real estate agents who said they had seen photos of the murder suspects and believed they looked like Telles.

Prosecutor Christopher Hamner questioned real estate agent Zachary Shilling.

Hamner asks, “So you see this suspect walking around? What do you think?”

Schilling replied, “It was a Friday and I thought, boy, that really looks like someone I know.”

Hamner also asks: “So who were you thinking of?”

“I was thinking of Mr. Telles,” says Schilling.

Roberta Lee-Kinnet, a close friend of the former civil servant, also testified.

Her testimony revealed that she had spoken to Telles after German's death.

Prosecutor Pamela Weckerly says: “You're sending a message, Rob, what the hell, please don't drive your Yukon around for a while.”

Lee-Kinnet says: “Correct.”

In addition, Lee-Kinnet says, “I think everyone else saw the Yukon in the photos the same way.”

Telle's attorney Robert Draskovich asked Lee-Kinnet: “Did he never tell you in person, by telephone or in any other way that he was involved in the murder of Jeff German?”

“That’s right, he said it wasn’t him,” says Lee-Kinnet.

In the second week of the trial, the focus shifted to the testimony of Robert Telles.

His lawyer tried to prevent this step.

Robert Telles says: “I am clearly innocent, I did not kill Mr. German and I have a lot to tell you all.”

Telles explained to the jury that the action appeared to have been carried out by a trained employee, which was not the case.

He also claimed that he had been set up.

Prosecutor Christopher Hamner questioned Telles: “So you have the DNA lab, you have Jappe and you have Mogg, and we haven't touched on the others yet, but we wanted to come back to them because they are involved, to set the record straight?”

“So you paid Detective Jappe, yes,” says Telles.

The prosecutor tried to refute Telles' version of the truth.

Before the defense presented its arguments, prosecutors questioned him again about his claims that he had been set up.

Hamner asks Telles: “But at the end of the day, you’re just a victim in this whole thing, aren’t you?”

Telles replied: “Yes”

Prosecutor Hanmer replies: “Thank you, no further questions.”

Robert Telles will be back in court on Monday, August 25th.
