Witnesses reported a significant police presence in Dunham Park in Sioux Falls on Sunday, amid unconfirmed reports a shooting. The police have not yet made an official statement on the incident.

A social media post claimed that a group of 20 or more people were in the park when shots were fired. Three people were reportedly hospitalized with gunshot wounds. However, this still needs to be confirmed.

Another user shared: “I was sitting outside in my backyard and heard the gunshots coming from the north. That explains that and all the sirens.”

A third person reported: “I was taking a nap and heard it! It woke me up. Way too close to home.”

Several witnesses reported seeing police activity in the area.

“We drove by on Marion Road and noticed a police car blocking the road at the entrance and road closure signs,” one person reported on Facebook.

Another reported: “Anyone know why the cops have Dunham Park cordoned off with a huge police presence by the ballparks and the river? I've been told there was a possible shooting, but I'm not sure! Right across the street from us.”
