Patriots lose important offensive lineman to injury in season finale

The New England Patriots have had major offensive issues this training camp, which was one of the central themes of the summer.

In the last game of the season on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, the Patriots suffered another setback, which the team certainly did not need given the already uncertain state of the unit.

Guard Sidy Sow left the game in the first half with an ankle injury. He was originally listed as questionable before the Patriots ruled him out for the second half, according to a team statement.

Sow was a starting defensive tackle and had previous experience in New England, where he started 13 games for the Patriots last season.

Also in New England, Christian Elliss had to leave the game with a head injury after making eleven tackles – the most on his team that evening.

Just two weeks before their season opener at the Cincinnati Bengals, the Patriots have more decisions to make on offense for a group that will dictate the course of the season with its ability to protect the quarterback, whether that be Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye.
