Jonesboro police investigate early Sunday shooting

JONESBORO, Arkansas (KAIT) – Jonesboro Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured early Sunday morning, August 26, 2024.

Police responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of Virginia Drive at 12:16 a.m. Sunday, according to Jonesboro Police Department spokeswoman Sally Smith.

She said one victim was shot in the leg and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith said two people were arrested at the scene by Jonesboro police and charged with obstruction of justice.

She said Arkansas State Police arrested a person in connection with the shooting later in the day.

Jonesboro police are also looking for a person suspected in connection with the shooting.
