3 people in hospital after multi-vehicle crash causes multiple lane closures on SB 405 Fwy near Bel Air

BEL AIR, Calif. (KABC) — Three people had to be hospitalized on Saturday evening after a multi-vehicle crash on Freeway 405. The accident led to the closure of several southbound lanes and thus to massive traffic congestion.

The four-vehicle collision was reported near Mulholland Drive at 9:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A man and a woman were taken to hospital by ambulance, and a woman was transported with non-life-threatening injuries, the fire department said in a statement. A boy “will be released at the scene and will not be transported,” the news release said.

The cause of the crash was initially unknown.
