Suga regrets having “sullied” BTS through DUI case: “I deeply apologize”

Suga deeply apologizes to the other BTS members for inadvertently tarnishing the band's name in the wake of his DUI case.

In his recent apology letter, the BTS member expressed that his reckless actions had let down his bandmates Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, J Hope, RM and V, as well as the entire BTS ARMY.

“This incident has left a big stain on the precious memories I have with my [fellow BTS] “I have tarnished BTS' name,” the 31-year-old rapper wrote in his lengthy letter, referring to his drunken incident on August 6 and his initial apology on August 7, which had caused some confusion.

“I am so deeply sorry for the harm I caused to the other members and our group that it is hard to put into words,” apparently alluding to the truck protests and other social media trends calling for Suga to be excluded from the boy band.

“I am sorry that the [BTS] “Members who have always believed in me are suffering because of me,” he continued. “And I am all too aware of the disappointment of the fans who have supported and cheered me on.”

“I want to apologize to the fans who gave me more love than I deserved despite my shortcomings… I deeply regret my actions and think about them every day with a heavy heart,” he wrote in the note.

This second apology, posted on Weverse, came days after Suga appeared for an examination at Yongsan Police Station on August 23.

With the letter, he wants to clear up the confusion caused by his previous statement, in which he described his means of transport as an electric kickboard and not the electric scooter reported by the officials.
