Bradenton murder suspect's sanity hearing

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – A man accused of murdering his mother and her partner is being evaluated by psychologists.

Thomas Matejcek was charged with two counts of premeditated murder.

Matejcek is accused of killing his mother, Patricia Matejcek, and her boyfriend, Sean Harrison Sr., on November 10, 2023.

Manatee County sheriff's investigators said they were called to a bloody scene at the Arbor Terrace RV Park on 55th Avenue Terrace West after receiving reports of screaming coming from an RV. Officers found the bodies of Patricia Matejcek and Sean Harrison Sr. inside the home, along with a knife in the kitchen sink.

A 911 caller described a man he saw leaving the house on foot; Thomas Matejcek was soon arrested.

Matejcek's public defender asked the judge for an expert opinion from a court-appointed defendant.

Matejcek will appear in court again on November 14.

The maximum sentence for these crimes is life imprisonment.
