Off-duty Casper police officer arrested

Casper Police report that an incident occurred on August 22 in which an off-duty officer was experiencing a personal crisis that lasted into the evening hours of August 23. No injuries were reported and the incident ended with his lawful arrest.

The incident was handled by the Natrona County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) and is currently under investigation. We join members of our community and the larger, statewide law enforcement family in recognizing the stressors associated with working as first responders and acknowledging the human moments we all experience.

Chief Keith McPheeters stated, “Our officer's actions today have generated a great deal of resonance throughout our department and especially among those who worked closely with him. We ask that you support each other and our community by respecting his privacy and the integrity of the investigation as we move forward down the path.”

Per policy, information regarding this incident will be released by the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, and a press release will follow from the Casper Police Department upon completion of our internal investigation.
