FSU football in trouble?

Is FSU football in trouble? The Seminoles are suffering from jet lag after their last-second loss to Georgia Tech in Dublin on Saturday in the opener of the 2024 college football season. DJ Uiagalelei wasn't great, completing 19 of 27 passes for 193 yards and 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. And Florida State's running game never got going. To put it bluntly, Georgia Tech looked tougher and stronger in the trenches. Their defensive line was active all day and their offensive line fought through 190 yards against the Seminoles.

Best case scenario for FSU, we look back at the end of the season and say Georgia Tech is pretty good. Worst case scenario, the Seminoles are in trouble.

FSU FOOTBALL IN TROUBLE

Our last memory of their program was their devastating 2023 finish. A key quarterback injury prevented them from finishing in the top four and securing a College Football Playoff spot. Then, for a variety of reasons, they got beaten by Georgia by 60 points in the Orange Bowl. And now, a loss to Georgia Tech in Week Zero has Seminoles fans reading headlines like: FSU football in trouble! Yuck.

The Florida State football team will be back on national television on Labor Day night when it plays Boston College. FSU is a 24.5-point favorite. If the game is close, it's time to hit the panic button. They should (SHOULD) top the standings against BC, Memphis, Cal and SMU before hosting Clemson on October 5th. Their next big game is three weeks later at the U against Miami. North Carolina, Notre Dame and Florida are still on the schedule. We'll soon find out if the FSU football team is really in trouble or if they've just hit an obstacle.
