INDIANAPOLIS – Marion County law enforcement officials are investigating the death of a man incarcerated at the jail, according to the sheriff's office.

According to police, 27-year-old Bailey Lyle was found unconscious at the Adult Detention Center, 675 Justice Way, at 8:14 a.m. on August 21. On-campus medical staff rendered aid while emergency personnel arrived.

Shortly after 9 a.m., about 45 minutes later, Lyle's death was pronounced. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

Lyle's death is being independently investigated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Forensic Services Agency, the Medical Examiner's Office and the Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs Division.

Lyle had been in custody since July 26 on suspicion of violating probation in connection with possession of a syringe.

Prison officials have already investigated the deaths of two other incarcerated men this year. Within weeks of each other, 33-year-old Magic Dumes and 29-year-old Richard Goode died at the facility.

The medical examiner concluded that Goode died of accidental drug poisoning. Dumes' death was also ruled an accidental asphyxiation due to an upper airway obstruction.
