Happy birthday, Melissa McCarthy! The Oscar-nominated actress celebrates her 54th birthday on August 26and she is already receiving honors from her famous friends.

Mariska Hargitay shared a sweet post on her Instagram stories in honor of her longtime close friend and posted a rare snapshot of the two together.

She recently shared a selfie capturing their glowing appearances at what appeared to be an outdoor party. They showed off relatively makeup-free faces and beaming smiles. “Happy birthday magical lady,” Mariska wrote.

In fact, Melissa isn't the only one celebrating a birthday today, as her husband Ben Falcone celebrated his own 51st birthday just a day earlier, on August 25. She shared an adorable video of him at home and wrote, “Happy birthday my darling!!!! I'm thankful every day that you were born!!!!! Xoxo”

The two actresses are very close, and in 2021 spy The star even shared a hilarious anecdote about how she supported the “Law & Order” star after she broke her ankle and had to wear a cast.

She told Jimmy Fallon's show that she felt guilty about not being able to respond to some of her friends' texts, so she decided to show her support in another way: She stood in front of a Wienerschnitzel and held a sign that read, “Honk while praying for Mariska Hargitay's recovery!!”.

“She's really good at texting, and I'm terrible,” Melissa said of her friend. “Sometimes I'll put my phone in my purse for three days and people will ask me, 'Where are you?' And she sent me a really funny text saying, 'Oh, don't worry, I'm just here in a lot of pain, I guess you're too busy to respond to my texts.'”

That spurred the actress to take the initiative. “And so I thought, 'OK, here we go.' Now I have to make it seem like that's the reason I haven't reached out to you, because I asked for prayers.”

“And so we literally jumped in the car, like you do in Burbank, and drove to Wienerschnitzel. I was jumping up and down and the cars were honking. And I think they were like, 'What?!'” She joked to Jimmy that she wasn't sure if the honking was really a good sign. “I can't tell if they were thinking, 'Get well soon, Mariska,' or if they were thinking, 'Get out of my way!'”

However, the gesture quickly went viral and certainly cheered up Mariska, who posted a clip of the moment shared by Melissa on Instagram and captioned it, “Beyond the norm. Honk if you're blown away by @melissamccarthy's heart and humor. This might be worth breaking my ankle for.”

One person, however, whose interest was piqued by the touching display of friendship was Ali Wentworth, a very close friend of Mariska, who joked that she was “jealous” during a guest appearance as co-host on (then) LIVE with Kelly and Ryan.

“I'm a little jealous,” she told Ryan Seacrest. “I'm starting to defend my territory… Melissa had a sign, I didn't have a sign, I sent her flowers. And now I'm starting to think, 'Woah, woah, Melissa! Relax, lady!'”
