She continued, “It read, 'I am heartbroken to have lost my mother this past weekend. Unfortunately, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life the same day.'” The singer went on to thank her fans and everyone who sent their condolences, saying, “I appreciate everyone's love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

The news site reported that no further details are currently known, especially the cause of death of Patricia and Alison.

Before her death, Mariah's mother Patricia Carey did not have a smooth relationship with her legendary daughter. The two had quite a complicated relationship.
