Donnell Bruce arrested, charged with random attack on five people in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man is in police custody after authorities say he randomly attacked five people in Philadelphia on Monday.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. in the 2200 block of Market Street.

According to police, a suspect attacked three people – a man and two women – by pushing them to the ground.

After the first attack, police said the suspect continued west along Market Street, where he allegedly attacked a 22-year-old woman.

The man reportedly punched her in the face and also threw her to the ground.

According to authorities, he then tried to steal a bag from a 77-year-old man. When the victim resisted, the suspect allegedly punched him in the face.

Officers said they were able to locate and arrest the suspect after a short foot chase.

The suspect, 36-year-old Donnell Bruce, has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault, resisting arrest and other related offenses.

All victims of this incident suffered minor injuries and are expected to recover.
