Man arrested for trespassing and attacking police officers

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer and trespassing at a Fargo apartment complex.

According to court documents, 54-year-old Matthew Nystrom was evicted from the Dakota Park Apartments in July.

On August 24, shortly after midnight, he was reportedly back at the 34th Avenue S property yelling that he had a gun.

According to court documents, Nystrom pulled something black and white from his waistband and yelled, “Are you ready for this, honey,” before running away.

He reportedly kicked an officer in the wrist during his arrest. Officials say it took four officers, a pair of handcuffs and leg shackles to get Nystrom into the back of a patrol car.

No weapon was found. According to court documents, Nystrom was holding a cellphone and a disposable water bottle with a black Apple Watch and a silicone band around it.

Nystrom was arrested on charges of trespassing, assault on a police officer, obstructing arrest and terrorizing. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 9.

According to court records, these are just four of 28 individual charges Nystrom has faced since 1998.
