Preliminary hearing postponed for Pleasants County business owner charged with drug offenses

SAINT MARYS, W.Va. (WTAP) – A preliminary hearing for a Pleasants County man accused of drug offenses has been postponed.

A hearing for Osric Armand Malone-Prioleau was scheduled to take place Monday afternoon in Saint Marys Magistrate Court. According to Pleasants County Prosecutor Brian Carr, the hearing was postponed after negotiations with Malone-Prioleau's attorneys.

As a result of these negotiations, Malone-Prioleau's bail was reset to $150,000 and a charge of possession of a Schedule 4 controlled substance with intent to traffic was dropped.

Malone-Prioleau is charged with two additional counts of possession with intent to distribute.

According to the indictment, a search warrant for Malone-Prioleau's business, Mindfulness Holistic Wellness & Healing, revealed that he was in possession of prescription drugs that had already been prescribed to other people.

The complaint also states that Malone-Prioleau was accused of administering controlled substances to employees.

His hearing will take place on September 20th at 9 a.m.
