Tempe man sentenced to 25 years in prison for burglary and sexual assault

PHOENIX – A Tempe man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a series of break-ins, burglaries and sexual assaults, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

On Friday, Djimon Boggs was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for burglary and 12.5 years in prison for sexual assault. Both sentences will be served consecutively.

In addition to his prison sentence, Boggs was sentenced to life probation for two counts of attempted sexual assault. He will also have to register as a sex offender upon his release.

Between September and October 2023, Boggs searched for unlocked homes in a Tempe neighborhood and threatened and attempted to sexually assault the victims on three occasions. One victim was sexually assaulted at gunpoint while the others were able to scream for help, after which he fled the scene.

Boggs was arrested on October 15, 2023 and charged with twelve felonies.

In July, Boggs pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault.
