The fall sports schedule is here, as Baylor football has already started and three other Bear sports open their seasons this weekend. The first on-campus events officially begin Friday with volleyball and soccer, while football begins Saturday.

Here's a quick look at everything you may have missed while Baylor Athletics was on the road:

Baylor football wins Outrigger Invitational

In her third year at the helm, head coach Michelle Lenard has gotten her Bears (3-1) off to their best start since 2019. The Green and Gold beat Hawaii 1-0 on Wednesday and followed up the close game with a win over Portland by the same score on Saturday. The two shutouts at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium in Waipahu, Hawaii, ensured Baylor's record at the Outrigger Invitational remained unblemished.

Sophomore forward Callie Conrad scored both of the Bears' goals in Hawaii, increasing her career goals total to four. Veteran goalie Azul Alverez, who transferred from TCU, played all 180 minutes during the trip and made 12 saves, adding two shutouts to her tally along the way.

The Green and Gold team will be looking to continue their winning streak against Texas A&M. The Bears and Aggies played out a 1-1 draw at last year's Battle of the Brazos in College Station. The game will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.

Baylor Volleyball ends friendly match with 3-1 loss against Texas A&M

Head coach Ryan McGuyre and the Bears followed up their annual Green and Gold match at the Ferrell Center by hosting Texas A&M for the final exhibition match before the regular season. The Aggies won the match in three sets, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21, before Baylor took its only set, 25-21, in a “for fun” final.

The Bears await their season opener on Friday at the Ferrell Center. The Green and Gold will open the day with an 11:30 a.m. duel against Abilene Christian University before taking on Tulsa for a night game at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

A look ahead:

With only a few days left in August, Baylor Athletics' September schedule is going to be tough and tough. After Friday's home games, the volleyball team will host Campbell at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Ferrell Center. The football team will kick off the season at 6 p.m. Saturday against Tarleton State at McLane Stadium. The cross country team will open its season on the road Friday at UIW Twilight in San Antonio.

Golf and women's golf, tennis and women's tennis, and equestrian are scheduled to begin in September, so stay tuned for all things Baylor Athletics. @BULariatSports on X, formerly known as Twitter, or baylorlariat.com/sports.
