New Hampshire authorities are asking the public to come forward with any tips or information regarding the 2020 murder of a young man in Rochester.

According to investigators, Michael Kenneth Mowry III was shot in his bedroom in August 2020. He was 19 years old.

“The pain of his murder was unbearable and made worse by the fact that we do not know who did this or why,” his mother, Aimee Lussier, said in a statement released Monday by New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella.

The statement said new investigations confirmed that Mowry was the victim of a robbery on August 30, 2020. Four masked male suspects broke into Mowry's apartment around 3 a.m. and shot him in the neck, the attorney general said.

“He had just moved into his first apartment and had everything to look forward to,” Lussier said in the statement.

The investigation determined the robbers fled the scene in a getaway car, the statement said. The attorney general believes the suspects have “ties to” the Haverhill and Merrimack Valley areas of northeastern Massachusetts.

“Mikie was a generous and loving child who cherished his family, especially his three younger brothers who really looked up to him,” his mother said. “He was incredibly loving and loved to hug us the most. When we told him we loved him, he would always respond, 'I love you more.'”

Anyone with information about the case can anonymously call the Rochester CrimeLine at 603-335-6500 or text tips to CRIMES (274637) with TEXT4CASH in the body of the text.

A reward of up to $1,000 will be offered for information leading to an arrest, the statement said.
