BPD is searching for a suspect who allegedly broke a woman's skull

Beaumont police are searching for a man accused of fracturing a woman's skull after the victim's daughter led officers to her semi-conscious mother, according to BPD.

Marcus Austin, 39, is wanted for aggravated assault and domestic violence. He is 1.75 m tall and weighs 100 kg.

Officers responded to 2860 Averill around 5:40 p.m. Monday after someone called to report a robbery. Police were flagged down by the victim's minor daughter.

She led the officers to the semi-conscious 33-year-old victim. She had a skull fracture and was taken to a hospital by ambulance as a trauma patient.

The suspect has arrest warrants from the City of Beaumont and a warrant from Baton Rouge for violating probation for illegal possession of a firearm.

He was last seen possibly wearing a black tank top and black shorts walking south from 2860 Averill.
