One person arrested in connection with a shooting

One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a woman injured on Cambridge Drive.

On July 2, 2024 at approximately 2:37 a.m., officers were called to the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive for a shooting involving a victim. Officers located a female victim with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators identified 37-year-old Josiah Riggs as the suspect. Riggs was arrested on August 24, 2024 and charged with first-degree assault and possession of a weapon. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
