Tragic drowning in Udupi: Student and two others in critical condition

In a series of tragic incidents in UdupiTwo separate drowning incidents resulted in one death and two other serious injuries.

In Karambali, Siddharth Shetty, a 17-year-old student from Indrali and Manipal, tragically drowned while swimming in Karambali Lake. Siddharth, who was swimming with two companions, did not resurface and his body was later recovered. The other two persons did not enter the water.

In another incident, four people went swimming in the Nilpadey in Alevoor. While taking a selfie, two of them fell into the river and got drenched. Local residents quickly intervened, rescued them and took them to a hospital in Manipal. The two people are currently reportedly in critical condition.

These incidents highlight the dangers of swimming in unsupervised areas and the importance of water safety.
