Sinnai, fake number plates on the car: Maracalagonis mechanic in trouble

A routine check by the Carabinieri of the Sinnai station which ended with the submission of a report to large for a 33-year-old mechanic living in Maracalagonis is held responsible for attaching false license plates to the car.

The discovery was made during a routine roadside check when The Carabinieri stopped a Volvo V70 with the mechanic and a 25-year-old man on board .

The initial inspection had already revealed that the car was driving without insurance. However, further checks of the license plates and the documents presented revealed a much more complex picture: The vehicle, which is now deregistered for export, was equipped with false license plates that were manufactured with great precision to avoid controls. .

The Carabinieri then searched the two inmates. The young man was found to be in possession of small amounts of hashish and marijuana, which is why he reported himself to the Prefecture of Cagliari as a drug user.

The fake license plates were immediately confiscated and will be deposited in the criminal registry of the Court of Cagliari, while the drugs found will be subjected to routine analysis.
