Calvert County Sheriff's Office Weekly Police Report

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – During the week of August 12, 2024, through August 18, 2024, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office officers responded to 1,888 emergency calls throughout the community, including (but not limited to):

CDS Violation: 24-63071

On August 17, 2024, DFC Lewis and Deputy Tunnell conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Main St. and N. Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick due to its registration being suspended. Investigation revealed that two pill halves, a steel razor blade, two blue capsules, and two cut straws with white powdery residue were found inside the vehicle. The driver, William Allen Carter Jr., 58, of St. Leonard, was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS (possession of non-cannabis) and CDS (possession of paraphernalia).

CDS Violation: 24-63377

On August 18, 2024, Deputy Daily stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations at the Sunderland Park & ​​Ride in Sunderland. Contact was made with the driver, Christopher Berry Walton, 49, of Chesapeake Beach, and the passenger, Meagan Marie Bailey, 30, of Harpers Ferry, WV. Further investigation revealed that three clear smoking devices with fire residue, a crack pipe, a push rod, and crack bricks were found throughout the vehicle. Walton was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he told officers he was carrying a plastic bag containing a large amount of suspected crack (14 grams). Walton was charged with CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics, CDS: Possession of Non-Cannabis, and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia. Bailey was transported to the CCDC and charged with CDS: Possession of Non-Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

Damage to property: 24-63164

On August 17, 2024, Cpl. Barger reported to the Calvert County Detention Center in Prince Frederick for criminal damage. Investigation revealed that inmate Ronald Lee Russey-Thyes, 25, of no fixed address, had broken a sprinkler head off the wall in a jail cell. The broken sprinkler head caused water to leak out of the cell door and set off the fire alarm. Russey-Thyes was charged with malicious damage to property valued less than $1000.00.

Resisting arrest: 24-63257

On August 18, 2024, Deputy Campbell responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Prince Frederick Inn located at 75 Main Street in Prince Frederick. Contact was made with Quinn McDonald Bannister, 59, of Prince Frederick. Bannister initially refused to give his name. Further investigation revealed that Bannister had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Bannister became combative while resisting arrest. Bannister was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with resisting/hindering arrest, failure to comply with a reasonable/lawful order of a police officer, and trespassing, and his warrant was executed.
