Man and woman are said to have fled with a baby, drugs and a gun in their car after firing shots

A man and woman are accused of fleeing with a two-month-old baby, drugs and a rifle in their car after firing shots in Escambia County.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) said it received a call on Saturday that a woman fired shots and fled the area in a black SUV.

Responding officers found the SUV and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the woman refused to comply.

ECSO reported that officers performed a PIT maneuver that stopped the SUV at the corner of West Jackson and Lynch Streets in West Pensacola.

Officers approached the vehicle and identified the suspect as Alexia Goble and the passenger as Mel'trez Coley. Goble told officers that her two-month-old baby was in the car and handed them the baby.

In addition to the baby, officers said they also found a loaded rifle, 7.1 grams of fentanyl, 159.5 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

ECSO conducted a criminal history check on Goble and Coley and found that Goble had been arrested three times for driving with a suspended license and was currently on probation. Coley had been convicted of robbery with a deadly weapon in November 2021.

The baby and Coley were taken to the local hospital for examination without injury and were received by the Ministry of Children and Families.

Goble and Coley are charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, trafficking in dangerous drugs and child abuse.
