2 workers killed, 1 injured in “incident” at Delta Air Lines maintenance center in Atlanta

Two workers were killed and one injured in an “incident” at Delta Air Lines’ maintenance facility at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the airline said.

Delta did not comment further on Tuesday morning's incident, but said it is “working with local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.”

According to airport authorities, the incident had no impact on airport operations.

Delta added that it was “heartbroken” and “grateful for the quick response of first responders and medical teams on the scene.”

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said: “I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased Delta employees. My thoughts are also with those injured and I hope for their speedy and full recovery.”

Police, fire department and airport teams are on site, the mayor said.
