A man died and a woman was seriously injured in a car crash in Potter Township earlier this month, Rockview State Police wrote in a report released Tuesday.

Corey A. Fike, 25, of State College, was pronounced dead on the morning of August 12, shortly after being transported by Penns Valley Emergency Medical Services to Mount Nittany Medical Center following the crash.

According to the accident report, Fike was driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Route 45 near the intersection of Tusseyville Road at 3:50 a.m. when he left the road and struck a utility pole. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop.

Both Fike and his passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Pleasant Gap, were ejected from the Jeep. The woman suffered serious injuries and was flown to UPMC Williamsport for treatment, police wrote.

According to a post on his Facebook page and marriage certificates, Fike and the woman were married three days before the crash.
