Why is the famous band Oasis getting back together after 15 years of separation?

LONDON – Oasis is reuniting after splitting up 15 years ago.

The famous Brit-pop band, consisting of band members and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, announced on Tuesday that they will tour again in 2025.

“This is it, this is happening,” Oasis captioned an Instagram post that was also shared by the band members' and the Gallagher brothers' accounts.

The band announced plans to perform in the UK and Ireland as part of the national leg of the Oasis Live '25 world tour. In summer 2025, Oasis will visit Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

“Their only European performances next year will be one of the biggest live moments and most coveted tickets of the decade,” the band said in a press release on their website.

Oasis also announced that “plans are underway” to take the tour “to other continents outside of Europe” in 2025.

Oasis, known for hits such as “Wonderwall”, has been disbanded since August 2009, when Noel Gallagher announced his resignation after a performance in Paris.

“It is with some sadness and great relief that I have to tell you that I am leaving Oasis tonight,” he wrote on the band's website. “People can write and say what they want, but I just couldn't work with Liam for another day.”

According to NBC News reports, the brothers often argued with each other.

In the 15 years since their separation, each of the brothers has worked as a solo artist.

Oasis was one of 15 nominees on the ballot for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.

Tickets for Oasis' UK tour dates go on sale at 9am BST (4am ET) on Saturday 31 August.

Fans can purchase tickets at ticketmaster.co.uk, gigsandtours.com and seetickets.com, the band's press release said.

Dublin tickets are available from 8am the same day from ticketmaster.ie.
