When Chet Holmgren joined the Oklahoma City Thunder from Gonzaga as the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the excitement among Thunder fans (and, let's be honest, basketball fans) was palpable. Eyes were on the summer runs he put in before his rookie season until Holmgren was injured in the “Crawsover” pro-am league organized by Jamal Crawford.

The injury may not have seemed that bad at the time, perhaps a sprained ankle or something similar, or so the hope went. But it turned out to be a serious injury that kept the former Gonzaga player out of action until his second season in the NBA. How did that happen? What is behind his injury and subsequent recovery?

The rising Thunder star recently told his story on Podcast P with Paul George, going into all the details of what happened before and after that fateful injury. Check it out for yourself below!
