PORT ST. LUCIE — A father and son were arrested this month in separate, unrelated incidents on charges including three counts of attempted murder, police said Tuesday.

Michael Hronis, 53, and his son Joshua Hronis, 24, both of Fort Pierce, were arrested following an investigation by Port St. Lucie police.

The elder Hronis is accused Monday of going to TAMCO Group in the 11600 block of Southwest Tom Mackie Boulevard, where he was fired in July, and reportedly saying he wanted to “kill a bunch of people who ruined his life, but he couldn't go through with it,” Port St. Lucie Deputy Police Chief Richard Del Toro said.

He reportedly said he wanted to kill his former boss, who had fired him and two other co-workers, before planning to end his life, Del Toro said.

Michael Hronis went to TAMCO, but did not see his boss and left the store. Police arrested him – with a 9mm handgun – at a Burger King in the 11200 block of Southwest Village Parkway, about 1.2 miles from TAMCO.

Both locations are in the Tradition area of Port St. Lucie, east of Interstate 95 and south of Tradition Parkway.

The TAMCO Group manufactures and sells electrical and lighting products under eight brands.

The younger Hronis is accused of shooting outside the VYBZ Lounge in the 2000 block of Northwest Courtyard Circle in St. Lucie West on Aug. 16. Two men were wounded by gunfire.

Joshua Hronis was arrested in Connecticut over the weekend, police said.
