Gigi Hadid's Rabanne fragrance campaign looks worth millions

Sometimes it's hard to remember that Gigi Hadid is only 29 years old—her supermodel credentials are as long as those of someone twice her age. The work she's put into her career is staggering, full of runway shows, magazine shoots, and those all-important brand ambassador gigs. But she's not content to rest on her laurels. She's still going strong, taking part in some of the industry's most exciting projects. Her latest might also be one of her coolest ever. Hadid's Rabanne fragrance campaign for the new Million Gold For Her fragrance is more than just a glamorous, gold-plated commercial and photoshoot—it's a return to the quintessential California girl style that made her so successful in the early 2010s.

Hadid and the iconic fashion and beauty brand announced the news in tandem, each uploading photos and videos from the radiant shoot. In the hero shot, Hadid — sporting extra-long hair extensions and soft smoky eyeshadow — has her arms wrapped around a giant bottle of Million Gold. Later in the carousel she uploaded, she struts down a gold glitter-covered runway, dressed in a matching metallic skirt set and a necklace with Rabanne's instantly recognizable logo, dancing to the beat of Beyoncé's hit “PURE/HONEY.”

The highly anticipated launch of a fragrance also requires an ambassador with supermodel proportions. The perfume is infused with electrifying, sensory-awakening notes like mandarin, cedarwood and sandalwood. It's earthy and grounded, but has a distinctly sensual, sophisticated undertone. In other words, it sounds exactly like the kind of fragrance Hadid would wear in her real life.

“Million Gold For Her reminds me of what Rabanne feels like as a Maison,” Hadid shared in a press release. “It's powerful and beautiful, with rose, lavender and a salty, mineral musk undertone. I love the balance. I think a lot of my personalities have masculine traits, so I like the mix of feminine and masculine elements in one fragrance.”

Hadid also knows a thing or two about the power of perfume. In 2015, she starred in a campaign for Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid, which was considered a crucial step in launching her career. Now she's applying everything she knows to one of her biggest looks yet.
