Authorities are looking for a suspect in the murder of a 16-year-old

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Central Homicide Unit on Tuesday asked the public for help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with the 2023 death of a 16-year-old boy who was found with gunshot wounds.

Thermal Sheriff's Station personnel received a report of a deceased male victim shortly after 9 p.m. on August 20, 2023, authorities said. When officers arrived in the 53500 block of Cesar Chavez Street in Coachella, they discovered a juvenile, later identified as Joseph Aroz.

According to the department, Aroz was pronounced dead at the scene.
