Star Trek screenwriter accused in lawsuit for sexually abusing his wife

Roberto Orci, screenwriter for several Star Trek And Transformers Films and Hawaii Five-0is accused of beating and sexually abusing his wife, actress Adele Heather Taylor.

In a countersuit filed Monday, Taylor claims she was the “target of [Orci’s] She accuses Orci of “abusive behavior,” including sexual harassment, beatings to the point of total destruction, and insults.

In one incident in May 2022, Taylor claims Orci stalked her in her Los Angeles home before pushing her to the ground and threatening to rape her. The following month, he allegedly attacked her a second time, telling her, “You enjoy being raped.”

Taylor also says in the lawsuit that she was arrested in April 2020 on domestic violence charges after Orci called the police when she tried to fight him off following his attack. Orci was later able to get her released on bail and admitted on tape that the arrest “was designed to destroy Adele's credibility and deter her from reporting his ongoing abuse to authorities,” the lawsuit says.

In December 2022, Taylor left Orci after being assaulted again, according to the lawsuit. During the incident, she recorded some of Orci's threats as he allegedly tried to push her out the front door of her home. “I want you out right now or I'm going to throw you out the damn door,” he said in the recording, according to the lawsuit. “I'm going to beat the shit out of you right now just to make you submissive enough for me to throw you out the front door.”

After this latest incident, Orci obtained a temporary restraining order against Taylor “before she had a reasonable opportunity to seek legal protection,” the lawsuit states.

Orcis's lawyer Daniel Paluch denied the allegations in an email to THR: “My client denies the allegations and looks forward to hearing the case in the appropriate forum, namely the court.”

Taylor states in her lawsuit that she wants to hold Orci accountable for his years of abuse and violation of his “contractual obligation to share his assets with her and support her financially for the rest of her life.”

Their countersuit comes after Orci filed a lawsuit in June accusing Taylor of beating him “repeatedly and brutally” over several years. In the lawsuit, Orci detailed several instances of alleged abuse, including Taylor being tasered, pepper sprayed, strangled and thrown glass, to name a few. He also accused Taylor of manipulating him and coercing him into giving her property, money and control of his finances.

In his complaint, Orci acknowledged his struggle with alcohol and addiction and stated that he had undergone treatment and detoxification on several occasions.

Taylor's lawyer responded to a request from THR.
