Kaitlin Armstrong's request for retrial was denied

AUSTIN, Texas – An appeals court has rejected convicted murderer Kaitlin Armstrong's attempt to present new evidence for a retrial.

In November 2023, Armstrong was sentenced to 90 years in prison for the murder of Anna Moriah Wilson.

Only ten days later, she filed an appeal and requested a retrial.

Her first request for an evidentiary hearing was denied. A second request was filed earlier this month.

Armstrong and her attorney claim the state's DNA expert was not qualified to testify at trial and did not conduct the analysis carefully.

On Monday, August 26, the Court of Appeal again denied the motion.
