Officials begin moving into new Woodbury County Jail

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – On Tuesday, the LEC Authority released additional information regarding activities at the Woodbury County Jail Project.

The LEC agency turned over the keys to Woodbury County on August 21 and 22. Officials said the sheriff's office and other county officials have begun moving into the building and are engaged in setup, training and other activities necessary to be ready to receive inmates at the new jail.

Local campgrounds prepare for campers on Labor Day weekend

On August 19, Hausmann Construction's utilities were transferred to the LEC Authority. The committee received a certificate of substantial completion of the new LEC on August 16. Hausmann still has a contractually agreed 60-day window to complete a number of smaller projects on the site.

A ceremonial opening and an open day are planned for September 18th.
