He is facing calls to resign after saying Harris was being “paralyzed” by generals who were “imposing their will” on her in the White House Situation Room.

The 46-year-old defended his comments to the US Vice President and denied allegations that he made sexual remarks about her, even after he was criticized for them live on air by his The Five co-hosts Dana Perino and Jeanine Pirro. At the time, Watters claimed he had only spoken “figuratively” and “not in a sexual way.”

On Tuesday, Watters came under fire from both parties. Republican Congresswoman Barbara Comstock and the ex-wife of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Kerstin, expressed outrage over his comments. Comstock sharply criticized the Fox News host, claiming Watters' “misogyny” toward Harris was “intentional.”

Jesse Watters refuses to apologize despite calls for his resignation

Watters has been criticized several times in the past, including for cheating on his first wife with a younger Fox colleague. Last night on The Five, he refused to apologize but tried to justify his comments.

“There has been some attention because of comments made on the show yesterday about Vice President Harris. People are interpreting my comments as something inappropriate,” he explained during the show.

“I didn't imply anything sexual. I just expressed my opinion that Vice President Harris' current leadership style could be a problem if she is elected,” the Fox News host added.

Watters made the controversial remark while discussing foreign policy and criticizing Harris for what he saw as her lack of qualifications.

Several social media users called the Fox News host's comment horrible, sexist, misogynistic, offensive and vulgar and called for his firing.

American writer Yashar Ali shared a video of the incident on social media and asked, “Would Watters use this sexualized language when describing a straight man? Probably not!”

Following the firing of Tucker Carlson in July last year, Watters was given the 8 p.m. primetime slot. He is known for his polarizing remarks about women.

In 2019, he claimed that female journalists sleep with sources “all the time.” Later in 2022, he claimed that Harris had a “typical woman problem” in her role as vice president.

Fox News has not yet issued an official statement on his comments, while calls for his resignation are growing louder.
