Musical film “Waitress” released on British streaming platforms

The waitress The musical can now be rented and purchased on all streaming platforms.

Filmed in 2021 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, where the show was temporarily based after the pandemic, the production was directed by the hit musical's creator, Sara Bareilles, as Jenna, alongside Drew Gehling as Dr. Pomatter, Charity Angél Dawson as Becky, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie, Eric Anderson as Cal, Dakin Matthews as Joe and Joe Tippett as Earl.

The film first appeared in UK cinemas in the spring and is now available to UK viewers on various streaming platforms (such as Amazon Prime and Apple). DVDs and Blu-Rays are also available for UK viewers.

The musical is written by Jessie Nelson, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and choreographed by Lorin Latarro. It is based on the film of the same name and is about a young diner waitress who dreams of quitting her job and building a life for herself.

The British premiere took place in 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre, which had to close due to lockdowns. A tour with stops across the country started in 2021.
