Winona Ryder says she missed flights by repeating her famous line from “Beetlejuice” to TSA agents: “That got to be the point”

“I did it and they said, 'Do it again!'” the actress recalled.

Winona Ryder just doesn’t have a break – and no flights!

In an interview with E-Talk – The big conversation support financially Beetlejuice BeetlejuiceThe 52-year-old actress reflected on the enduring popularity of the original 1988 horror comedy classic, recalling how often her fans have asked her to repeat her character Lydia Deetz's iconic lines from the film.

In fact, it has happened so often that she may need to take a little more time at the airport.

“I missed flights because the TSA people wouldn't let me through until I said so three times,” Ryder told Tyrone Edwards in an excerpt from her interview shared on Sunday, August 25.

Ryder – who was sitting next to her co-stars from the upcoming sequel: Michael Keaton, Catherine O'Hara and Jenna Ortega – referred to the three words “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.”

This line was spoken by Lydia in the original Tim Burton film and calls Beetlejuice (Keaton) into the mortal world to wreak havoc among the living.

Keaton, who reprises his title role in the sequel, was shocked by Ryder's story. “Oh my God!” he said, while O'Hara – who also returns as Lydia's mother Deelia Deetz – added: “Are you kidding me?”

“So serious?” responded franchise newcomer Ortega. “Which airline?” asked Keaton jokingly.

Ryder further said that he was “not patted down” following this request, nor did he undergo any other routine security checks.

“And you said no?” O'Hara asked the actress.

Ryder said she agreed to recite the lines for security and then found herself stranded at the airport. “I did it and they said, 'Do it again!'” she recalled. “When it became a thing, I said, 'Please! I'm late!'”

The long-awaited Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be in theaters on September 6th.

According to the synopsis, “an unexpected family tragedy” brings “three generations of the Deetz family” back to Winter River, Connecticut, where Beetlejuice last awoke. It is Lydia who “discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and inadvertently opens the portal to the afterlife.”

Speaking about her connection to the role, Ryder said: Harper’s Bazaarin July: “She was someone I really identified with.” Ryder added that she was committed to Stranger Things as long as she could return to Lydia if a Beetlejuice There was a resuscitation.

“I remember my first meeting with the Duffer brothers. I said, 'As long as Beetlejuice 2 happens, you let me do it,'” said the actress. “They agreed. Luckily, it worked out. That was my only condition.”
