(Popeye's)

Gourmets will be delighted.

After much anticipation, New Orleans-based fried chicken brand Popeyes has confirmed that it will open the doors of its first restaurant on the island of Ireland at 11am on Friday 20 September.

The first location chosen was the Lesley Forestside shopping centre in Belfast, but the brand hasToday it was announced that the company is exploring Ireland and more openings are likely to follow soon.

The brand came to the UK in November 2021 and has since opened more than 50 locations there.

From September, chicken fans in Belfast will be able to try Popeye’s world-famous “Shatter Crunch” for themselves.

The delicious menu includes legendary chicken sandwiches, hot wings, tenders, original southern biscuits and gravy, and Cajun rice.

Customers can expect the best quality because all of the chicken at Popeyes is prepared fresh in the store.

It is marinated for 12 hours in a special blend of Louisiana herbs and spices and then hand breaded and dipped in batter to create the famous Popeyes Shatter-Crunch. The Popeyes breakfast menu is available from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Products launched earlier this year include classics with a New Orleans twist, such as the Big Cajun Breakfast Roll and Cajun Hash Browns.

Meatless and flexitarians are also catered for: several vegan options are available, including the 100% plant-based vegan sandwich, and since all the chicken is halal, everyone is welcome to enjoy it.
