Prison inmate admits to another burglary

A Reno man serving a sentence of up to 18 years in prison faces an additional 10 years in prison for burglary.

Charles F. Timms, 45, admitted to breaking into a store on Monday.

Timms was arrested in Gardnerville on April 2 after breaking into a home and stealing a small safe and a jewelry box and its contents.

The verdict is scheduled for October 7.

• A man arrested for driving under the influence for the third time faces up to 16 years in prison for weapons and methamphetamine possession.

Gerard Matthew Luisi, 49, admitted three offences on Monday, including driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a firearm by an unauthorized person and possession of methamphetamine.

Luis was arrested on June 27 on Glenbrook Road in Lake Tahoe.

According to court documents, Luisi was previously convicted of drunk driving in 2016 and 2017. He was granted probation in January 2016.

The verdict is scheduled for October 7.

• An arrest warrant was issued against a woman who failed to appear in court for the third time on Monday.

The arrest warrant for Jacqueline Joelle Burns was issued in the amount of $5,000 and led to extradition to Nevada and California.

According to court documents, she was summoned to a hearing on July 15 but failed to appear. The case was postponed until August 19, where she again failed to appear.
