SHREVEPORT, LA – Bizarre chain of events lands man in prison

On August 27, around 10 a.m., Shreveport Police responded to the 800 block of Cotton Street on a report of a naked man attacking people with a pipe. Concerned citizens informed officers that the man had used both a pipe and a large tree branch as weapons and had struck and injured a person.

Upon their arrival, officers were able to make contact with the suspect, who was later identified as a 44-year-old. DeCarlo HolmesAfter a struggle, officers were able to successfully arrest Holmes. During the altercation, officers used their official tasers to subdue him. Holmes was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, resisting an officer and aggravated assault in the second degree.

Fortunately, everyone involved in the incident is expected to recover from their injuries.

Chief Smith praised officers for their handling of this difficult situation and thanked community members for immediately contacting police about this bizarre incident.
