Sarah Jessica Parker wears Carrie Bradshaw's Chanel top again 24 years later

If you are wondering why Sarah Jesscia Parker's latest outfit on the set of And just like that… saw so familiar, that's because you've seen it before.

The actress was filming the third season of the Sex and the City Restarted in New York City on August 28, wearing a 2000s-style outfit from the show's fashion archives.

On set, Parker (as Carrie Bradshaw) wore a puffy, transparent Chanel blouse with a colorful motif, including hearts with the label's double-C logo.

The blouse first appeared in the SATC Universe on September 24, 2000, when the episode “Hot Child in the City” first aired.

Back then, Carrie paired the piece with purple tie-dye capri pants, a turquoise bandana around her ponytail, and bright ankle-strap pumps. With the statement Chanel top, the entire outfit was truly a memorable one, often included in roundups of typical Carrie Bradshaw style moments.

In its new life, however, the shirt was toned down by a purple drop-waisted skirt and light green tie-dye strap pumps.

As PEOPLE with AJLT Costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago revealed how they planned to dress today's Carrie at the show's premiere in December 2021.

“I think one of the most important things for Carrie's look in this new show was to continue to mix high and low, vintage and secondhand, because that's kind of the DNA of the original show. Carrie has never – maybe a couple of times – been in the full runway look. It's about mixing these great used pieces with a modern piece,” Rogers said.

While the new season of AJLT hasn't been released yet, but photos of Parker on set in the Big Apple have given us a glimpse of what we can expect from the costumes.

One particular look went viral in May, featuring the star in an oversized gingham hat and a pair of Dr. Scholl's original wooden sandals. Parker shared a photo of the ensemble on Instagram, and his followers didn't hold back with their comments when it came to Parker's ridiculously large and floppy headgear.
