Matt Lauer's daughter in trouble after hit-and-run

Matt Lauer's daughter Romy had a car accident and then fled.

According to Page Six, the incident occurred over the Fourth of July weekend.

20-year-old Romy drove her car into a fence and a sign in the Hamptons and then fled the scene of the accident.

The accident caused the license plate of her Jeep Wrangler to fall off, allowing police to track down and identify the TV presenter's daughter.

As the police confirmed, she has now been issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident without permission.

Insiders have revealed that local attorney Edward Burke Jr., whose clients include Justin Timberlake, “is currently involved in the case and is resolving it in court for Ms. Lauer.”

The accident was reported at about 4 a.m. on July 5 after a local resident heard a noise and feared someone had been injured.

Earlier that evening, Romy had posted a TikTok of herself with two friends at the Kissaki sushi restaurant in the nearby town.

The friends are seen mouthing the words, “I have only three things to say: God bless our troops, God bless America, and gentlemen, start your engines!”

Romy is the daughter of former Today show host Matt and his ex-wife Annette Roque. Matt and Annett married in 1998. Annette filed for divorce in 2006, citing “cruel and inhumane” behavior. She then withdrew the petition and the couple remained married until 2017, when Matt was accused of “inappropriate sexual conduct” in his role on the Today show.
