Pedestrian killed in early morning accident in Plaquemines Parish

BELLE CHASSE, Louisiana (WVUE) – A 19-year-old pedestrian from Baton Rouge was killed in a traffic accident early Wednesday morning (August 28) on LA 23, north of Seatrain Road in Plaquemines Parish.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. when Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to reports of a collision.

According to the preliminary investigation, the pedestrian, identified as Kyrin Dotson, was crossing the northbound lanes of LA 23 when he was struck by a 2004 Toyota Tundra traveling in the left lane.

Dotson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. As part of the ongoing investigation, Dotson and the driver were subjected to routine toxicology tests.
