CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A student was arrested Wednesday following an incident at Central High School.

A disgruntled student left the Central High School campus due to a disciplinary infraction. The student later returned to school and engaged in disorderly conduct, using foul language and behaving erratically.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office School Resource Deputy assigned to the school gave him a verbal warning and escorted him to the school's reception area.

The student behaved improperly and refused to follow the SRD’s verbal instructions.

A physical altercation ensued and the SRD used pepper spray to make an arrest.

As a precautionary measure, the student was examined by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services and medically cleared.

The student was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center without further incident.

The student is accused of disturbing the peace and resisting state authority.

Since this incident involves juveniles, no further information is available.
