Who has the best single-season shooting percentage in Vegas Golden Knights history?

It's safe to say that the Vegas Golden Knights are blessed with one of the best-run teams in the NHL. They have the best shooters in the league, including William Karlsson, Mark Stone, and Jack Eichel. Even though some names like Chandler Stephenson are gone, the Golden Knights have earned a reputation as a perennial contender. Las Vegas is lucky to have such a great hockey team in town.

But it's more than just building a stable team. It's also about keeping the right players and making tough decisions. For diehard fans who have been around since the Misfit days, seeing Jonathan Marchessault go was brutal. But it was necessary because the contract was too long. Imagine paying a player whose defensive performance is declining for five years… until he's 39.

Still, there was one great player who shot well for the Golden Knights. In fact, he is the season's best in shooting percentage and dominates the rankings. He had an opponent who came close to his mark. However, this “Original Misfit” stood tall and had the stats down. Who is this mysterious man who dominated a season in shooting? Here's a clue: It's not Chandler Stephenson, although his poise puts him at the top of the all-time list.

William Karlsson is a man of many talents. He's great on the power play, a breakaway candidate when his team is shorthanded, and a great center. No one can do all of those things and be a healthy two-way player at the same time. However, he holds the single-season record for the best scoring percentage in Vegas Golden Knights history.

He had a 23.4 shooting percentage in 2017-18, capping a stellar offensive season from the Swedish forward. He also held the single-season record for most goals (43) and points (78) that season, securing a place in the Golden Knights' record books. Mark Stone was close with a 21.4 shooting percentage in 2020-21. He scored 21 goals and 40 assists that season, leading the Golden Knights' offense to the semifinals. Third was Cody Eakin with a 18.3 shooting percentage in 2018-19, while Karlsson was fourth with 17.1 in 2023-24.

The Golden Knights build their offense on balance and doing whatever it takes to win as a team. Karlsson embodies that by making his teammates better. It's part of what makes him one of the most beloved figures in Las Vegas hockey history. The Misfits will be remembered for coming out of nowhere and becoming famous, with Karlsson at the helm.
