League of Women Voters Forum on the new prison and justice center on September 16

ST. CLOUD – The St. Cloud chapter of the League of Women Voters is hosting an informational forum on Monday, Sept. 16, about the proposed sales tax increase in Stearns County to fund a new jail and justice center – which will be voted on in November.

The forum will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the Mississippi Room of the St. Cloud Regional Library.

Members of the League of Women Voters will moderate a panel of experts, according to a press release from the League of Women Voters. The panel will discuss what a vote on the proposed increase would mean for citizens.

The panel consists of:

• Steve Soyka, Sheriff of Stearns County
• Michael Williams, Stearns County Administrator
• Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall
• Randy Schreifels, Stearns County Auditor/Treasurer
• Chair of the Stearns County Board of Commissioners Tarryl Clark
