Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's divorce judge has a surprising connection to one of her famous exes

Did you know that the judge overseeing Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's divorce has ties to Alex Rodriguez, Affleck and Lopez's former fiancé?

Strand Conover, the son-in-law of Judge Bradley S. Phillips, is Affleck and A-Rod's agent, which makes this sensational case even more exciting.

Conover, a partner at WME, serves as agent for both Oscar winner Ben Affleck and former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.

He reportedly works closely with Affleck.

Judge Phillips dismissed concerns that there might be a potential conflict of interest in overseeing the divorce, saying his ties to either party would not affect his impartiality.

Phillips mentioned that Conover had previously met Jennifer Lopez through his work with Affleck and Rodriguez, but stressed that he never directly represented Lopez. He also confirmed that he has not and will not discuss the divorce with Conover.

Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, on August 20 after months of speculation about their relationship. The filing was made in Los Angeles County Superior Court to coincide with the second anniversary of their wedding at Affleck's Georgia estate on August 20, 2022.

In the lawsuit, Lopez waived the right to pay spousal support and claimed that Affleck should not receive any support either because there was no prenuptial agreement and the couple's income could therefore be classified as community property.

Lopez and Rodriguez began dating in early 2017, got engaged in 2019 and split in 2021. Shortly thereafter, Lopez rekindled her romance with Affleck, nearly 17 years after their first engagement ended in 2004.

The couple made their rekindled relationship public in July 2021, celebrating their comeback on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. They got engaged again in April 2022 and tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, before celebrating a second wedding at Affleck's estate in Georgia a month later.

Guests at their wedding in Georgia included Matt Damon, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes and agent Patrick Whitesell, and Jay Shetty performed the ceremony. Lopez is mother to 16-year-old twins Max and Emme from her marriage to Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
