I-95 closed at the New Hampshire border due to incident on the Piscataqua River Bridge

Due to a police operation on the Piscataqua River Bridge, Interstate 95 on the border between Maine and New Hampshire is closed in both directions.

According to the Maine State Police, northbound traffic into Maine is completely closed and southbound traffic is being diverted via Exit 2 in Kittery.

The southbound slip road into York is also closed.

Police have not released any information about the incident on the bridge or said how long it may be closed.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use US Highway 1 for travel to and from New Hampshire.
