For immediate release

READING – Police Chief David Clark reports that Reading police arrested two men and charged them with shoplifting following an incident at a Home Depot earlier this month.

TYLER CLARK, 21 years old, from MELROSE and LUIZ De FATIMA, 33, from EVERETT were arrested and charged with:

  • Shoplifting over $250 by concealment

On Thursday, August 15, at approximately 11:14 a.m., Reading Police were called to the New Crossing Road area because two men allegedly stole something from the Home Depot at 60 Walkers Brook Drive.

During an initial investigation, officers found that two suspects had been observed leaving a Home Depot with gym bags and behaving suspiciously.

A subsequent investigation revealed that a witness confronted the men, after which they ran out of the store toward Anthony's Cold Fired Pizza.

The officers managed to obtain a description of the suspects' clothing.

Officers found two men matching the description of the suspects and identified them as CLARK And By FATIMA.

During a subsequent investigation, officers found two backpacks containing goods with an estimated value of $764. The men were unable to provide a receipt for any of the items contained within.

CLARK And By FATIMA were arrested without incident.

CLARK and De FATIMA were arraigned in Woburn District Court on Thursday, August 15.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
