Second ex-boyfriend arrested after couple's murder; police say children were present at crime scene

LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana (KPLC) – A second arrest has been made in connection with the deaths of a woman and her boyfriend.

Two men now face charges of killing the mother of their children and her boyfriend while the children were at home.

Desmond Duriel Brown, 39, was arrested Thursday, August 29, for his alleged involvement in the murders of Courtney Grogan, 39, and Cyrille Mitchel Jr., 40. Their bodies were found August 19 in a duplex on Bradley Street in Lake Charles.

Sheltren Terel Tucker, 38, was also taken into custody in Texas on August 29 and charged with first-degree murder and burglary.

According to Lake Charles Deputy Police Chief Kevin Kirkum, both Brown and Tucker have a child with Grogan. Their children and another child were present in the home at the time of the murders.

Brown is charged with first-degree murder and his bail is set at $1.5 million.

Tucker's bail was set at $2.1 million.
